Homes built before the 1978 Building Act came
into place do not have the adequate insulation
now required by law to be installed in new homes.
“Retro-fitting” means installing insulation after the
house has been built, including vapour and draft
barriers – where possible.

Ceiling insulation using Novatherm, commonly known as polar fleece, with a thermal insulation rating
of R2.6.
Under floor insulation using Tasman 421, a reinforced aluminium building foil, commonly known as
sisalation with a insulation rating of R1.1.
Moisture exclusion barrier using a 250 micron polythene, an effective, durable means of preventing
rising damp – a significant contributor to dampness in a home.
Draught barriers commonly known as V seal which is fitted around external doors and windows.
Rain weather shields fitted to a maximum of two external doors.
A hot water cylinder wrap which is a thermal blanket designed to keep the heat in the hot water
cylinder for longer.
Hot water pipe lagging which keeps the water hot in the pipe for longer.
All products have been BRANZ tested and meet or exceed the current building standards. (For more

“Some little while ago we arranged for under floor insulation of our home.
The home is noticeably warmer and less drafty, and even more importantly perhaps, drier.”
